Vblank Entertainment first unveiled Shakedown: Hawaii, a 16 bit successor to 2012 indie hit Retro City Rampage, in Nintendo’s first Nindies Presentation in February 2017. It was given an April 2017 release window at the time but wound up missing that date. After being pushed back a couple more times, Vlbank Entertainment was finally able to give a firm release date and price for the title today. Shakedown: Hawaii will cost $19.99 when it releases for PC, PS4, PS Vita, and Nintendo Switch on May 7, 2019.

The game is also slated to come to 3DS, though this version of the game has been delayed as it”needs a few more finishing touches”. While no set release date was given, Vblank Entertainment is adamant that it will “follow shortly.” Today’s announcement also confirmed that it will work on both a regular Nintendo 3DS and a New Nintendo 3DS.

Alongside this release date announcement, a PlayStaton Blog post was released that delves into elements like Shakedown: Hawaii’s gameplay, tone, and retro aesthetic.?Like Retro City Rampage DX, Shakedown: Hawaii will be receiving a physical release for PS Vita next month as well. The physical version of the game will cost $29.99, will be available for pre-order on Vblank’s website from May 3, and is limited to only 4,800 units.

To get a better idea of what you can expect from Shakedown: Hawaii when it releases, you can check out its latest trailer, titled “The Consultant,” below. Shakedown: Hawaii will finally release for PC, PS Vita, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on May 7 with a 3DS version to come soon thereafter.
